Frequently asked questions
Before the shoot
I’m based in Chatham and cover Kent including Rochester, Gillingham, Maidstone, Upnor, Strood, Gravesend and Sittingbourne. I can also travel further afield if required. Session prices include travelling up to 10 miles from my home in Chatham. Areas outside of this will be charged at 45p per mile or public transport where applicable.
For newborn sessions, I recommend booking after you 20 week scan. However, don’t worry if your past this date. My style of photography means babies can be photographed at any age, rather than just 0-2 weeks old. This gives you much more flexibility about when you have your session and what works best for you and your family.
Get in contact with me to book your session. Once we have agreed on a time and date I will send you a contract and invoice for the deposit.
The photoshoot
The most important thing is that you feel good, comfortable and feel like you. I recommend you try to coordinate your clothes and not match too much. Try to avoid logos and different patterns. Pick clothes that will be more timeless like a simple dress, shirt or t-shirt. For babies a simple short-sleeved vest or babygrow is ideal. For younger children choose clothes that they can easily play and more around in. If you need help planning your outfits or want to get a second option please get in touch so I can help.
Feeling camera shy is completely normal. I get camera shy too. I don’t like having my photo taken but I would hate it even more if I didn’t have photos to look back on and pass down. When I arrive, I’ll take my time to introduce myself to everyone and spend some time with you before the camera even leaves my bag. Most of the time you won’t need to look at the camera, instead, you’ll be looking and interacting with each other. After a little while, you’ll forget the camera is even there.
The weather can change so don’t worry too much about the weather until the day of your shoot. If the weather looks bad, we can either move the shoot indoors or reschedule for another day. Don’t worry if it’s a cloudy day, these days can still produce wonderful photos.
Rescheduling is fine in these instances. To reschedule once is free of charge. If you need to reschedule again, a re-booking fee is required (50% of the session fee).
After the photoshoot
I will deliver your private proofing gallery within 2 weeks after your photoshoot.
I do not provide RAW images to my clients. I provide clients with hand-edited JPEG files only.
I provide high-resolution digital images in JPEG form. I retain the copyright but you have unlimited printing rights. This means you can print and share your photos as much as you like. The only things you can’t do is alter them (i.e. put a filter on them) or sell them.
